What a difference the exterior cleaning made. To be honest when we saw your previous posting's photo - with the chateau all clean and shiny, we thought you used AI to get rid of the mold and mosses. But you did it! Check one box. It looks fabulous!

I’m excited for the little surprises as Spring “springs.” We’re seeing lots of bluebells looking ready to burst! Patience is a lesson we are doing our best to be good students.
I think your brain and my brain operate at the same wavelength! This has turned out to be a year of big, expensive, unsexy projects for us. New windows. Façade work. And a new roof! But we’re telling ourselves that peace of mind is priceless. But there are some financial benefits, like energy savings and not having to repair damage from leaks…
The unsexy projects are the whole game, aren't they?! Nobody's pinning "new drainage system" to their inspiration board but here we all are, doing the invisible work so the visible work has something solid to stand on. Bon courage right back to you, Valerie! Sounds like you're deep in the thick of it, too.
They really are! Though I was surprised and delighted when some friends genuinely wanted to see my new windows. But I had these competing thoughts like “oh, isn’t that nice?” and “is this what becoming middle-aged feels like?” HAHA.
But this too shall pass - after the façade work, followed by the roof. Which are at least visible improvements!
This has been such an interesting read. It's the perfect way to not only handle and control a sense of overwhelm but by breaking it down into your different categories you're hitting all the things that need to be accomplished in such a great order. Thank you so much for sharing I think this approach works so well in so many other parts of our lives.
